Emily is someone who has been down this horrendous battle of addiction and fight for her life
since the age of 14. She has been to numerous treatment centers throughout the country, in addition to
seeing and going through many different doctor’s and counselor’s, outpatient programs, and sober
houses. Getting and staying sober was very difficult for Emily.
If not for Emily’s dear family and friends, along with the grace of God, she would not be where
she is today… clean and sober, with vision, direction, and a sense of purpose. Emily sees and
understands that many who suffer from addiction, of any form, are not always as fortunate with the
love and support she has received. This is what motivates her even more to become someone who
works in the field of addiction and recovery, and to help others realize they are worth it and have a
purpose. She wants to give back what was so freely given to her. Addiction had once robbed Emily of
her goals and her vision, but not any longer!
Some of Emily’s interests include dance, music, working out, going to church on Sunday’s, and
being around positive people and influences. She is an avid animal lover and her dog Abby is her little
fur baby. Her faith is very crucial and important in her recovery. She is a licensed CNA with the state of
Connecticut. She has provided “In Home Care” to her clients, with a background as a hospice aid and
caregiver. She also has her certification in makeup artistry, and enjoys helping others feel beautiful
inside and out. Emily is pursuing her goals and her dreams, completed the CCAR Recovery Coach
Academy training program, and will be enrolling in a local college.
One of Emily’s goals is to eventually bring to TriCircle’s mission a dance/recovery group for men
and women of all ages. She has always found dance to be very therapeutic, freeing, and a great way to
express herself. Emily is both honored and very excited to be a part of the TCI team! As she likes to
say…
“It’s not just one day at a time… it’s one minute, one second, one MOMENT at a time. “
